What to Check Before Sharing

Screenshots often include information you may not have noticed. Check for names, email addresses, phone numbers, addresses, order numbers, reservation numbers, QR codes, maps or location markers, account IDs, notification content, browser tabs, and other people's faces or icons.

In particular, tabs and notifications at the top of the screen, menus at the bottom, and chat lists in the background are easy to overlook. Even if the main content looks fine, personal information may still remain around the edges.

What to Cover with a Solid Block

Names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, order numbers, reservation numbers, and QR codes should generally be covered with a solid block. Blur and mosaic can reduce visual clarity, but they are not the best choice for text-based information.

For maps and location markers, cover a wider area. Removing only the pin may still leave place names, roads, and facility names visible. Check the surrounding area as well.

What Can Be Blurred and What to Reconsider

Backgrounds, passersby, and unimportant parts of the screen can often be handled with blur or mosaic. However, if other people's faces or icons appear in the image, consider the context and platform before posting.

In MistSeal, starting with Easy Mode lets you quickly place a solid cover or memo-style cover. Once positioned, zoom in before saving to check that no edges of the area are left uncovered.
