What Kanda & Jimbocho is like

Jimbocho concentrates used and specialist bookshops, publishers, and old-style cafés along Yasukuni-dori and its backstreets. Kanda Station is some distance away; for a book-centered day, start at Jimbocho and finish toward Ochanomizu or Takebashi.

Each bookshop specializes in different fields such as literature, academic works, art, cinema, or foreign-language titles. Protect books from bags and drinks, and always ask before taking photographs indoors.

Stations and access

Jimbocho exits A5–A7 are close to the book district. Takebashi serves the National Museum of Modern Art; Ochanomizu is convenient for Meiji University and Yushima Seido.
