What Aomori is like

Nebuta Museum, A-FACTORY, and ASPAM cluster around Aomori Station, enough for a walking half day. The art museum and Sannai-Maruyama site lie west of town and need coordinated buses.

During the Nebuta Festival, transport, accommodation, and hours differ radically from normal. Outside the festival, the museum provides a detailed look at float construction and local culture.

Stations and access

Shin-Aomori Shinkansen Station and central Aomori Station are separate. Transfer into town, then plan suburban museums around bus timetables.

  • Nebuta culture
  • Waterfront walking
  • Jomon archaeology and art
