Yokohama and Minato Mirai travel guide: sights and a practical walking route
A port city where skyline views, red-brick warehouses, Chinatown, waterfront parks, and museums connect in a one-way rail-and-walking route.
What Yokohama and Minato Mirai is like
Yokohama Station is not the main sightseeing waterfront. Start at Sakuragicho or Minatomirai, continue through Yamashita Park and Chinatown, and finish at Motomachi-Chukagai to avoid backtracking.
For an evening skyline, place indoor museums earlier and the Red Brick or pier area near sunset. In Chinatown, check menus and ordering terms rather than choosing solely from street solicitation.
Stations and access
Use both the Minatomirai Line and JR Negishi Line. The full waterfront walk from Sakuragicho to Motomachi-Chukagai is about four kilometers, with several stations available to shorten it.
Major places to visit
Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse
A cultural and retail complex in former port warehouses. Plaza events can alter routes and queues.
Official information →Yokohama Chinatown

Official information →Cup Noodles Museum Yokohama
An interactive museum on instant noodles. Some workshops require separate timed tickets or reservations.
