Nagano and Zenkoji travel guide: sights and a practical walking route
A city centered on the Zenkoji approach, temple precinct, and art museum, also serving as a gateway to Togakushi and Matsushiro.
What Nagano and Zenkoji is like
The route from Nagano Station to Zenkoji climbs gently for about two kilometers, making a one-way bus and one-way walk practical.
Togakushi and Matsushiro need at least a separate half day. Zenkoji's morning service usually requires an overnight stay.
Stations and access
Take a bus from Nagano Station to Daimon and walk downhill along the approach. Togakushi uses a separate service.
